A 90 degree cartridge addresses the issue of handles on kitchen mixers hitting the back wall behind, preventing a full rotation. This cartridge's off position would typically be at 12 o'clock and then be pulled towards you to the 9 o'clock position for full on (avoiding the wall entirely. It's included in some of our mixers, but is also available as an option on other kitchen mixers.)
