Bathroom Maintenance Guide

Extend the life of your bathroom with regular cleaning and maintenance. Follow our product aftercare tips to avoid the build-up of dirt and grime. Bathroom maintenance is not just about cleaning and having a shining bathroom but it is crucial to extend the life of your bathroom fixtures as well.

Vanity cleaning and maintenance tips: 

 

Do:

Use soapy water to clean all cabinets and ceramic surfaces. 
Use furniture oil sparingly on timber finishes. 

 

Avoid:

Allowing excessive water/moisture to build up – wipe down all units after each use.  

Tapware cleaning and maintenance tips: 


Do: 

Clean your tapware with warm soapy water and a soft cotton cloth, then rinse with clear water. 
Dry your tapware with a soft cotton cloth. 
Clean and polish regularly (this will reduce the need for heavy cleaning and polishing).  


Avoid: 

Any cleaning agents containing acids, polish abrasives or harsh cleaners or soaps.   
Abrasive cleaners or chemicals.  
Coloured tapware: Only clean with soapy water and dry with a soft cloth. Never use abrasive cleaners or chemicals as these will damage the colour and finish. 

 

Shower cleaning and maintenance tips: 


Do: 

Use a squeegee to wipe down all surfaces after every shower (this removes residual water spots). 
Clean your shower every week using hot water, mild soap and a soft microfibre cloth. Rinse with clean water and dry. 
Regularly remove the drain lid and disassemble, clean and replace.  


Avoid: 

Any chemical cleaning solutions as these may harm your shower. 
All abrasive cleaners, scrapers or pads. 
Showers with roller wheels and tracks: Apply a silicone lubrication spray every three months to extend the life of your shower.

Toilet cleaning and maintenance tips: 


Do: 

Clean the vitreous china after use to stop build-up of dirt and scale. Use warm soapy water, cream or liquid cleaner.  
Ensure any dripping taps are fixed – this will prevent stains and limescale build up. 
Clean the seat and cover using warm soapy water.  
Clean the hinges using soap or a mild detergent. Once the hinges are clean, rinse in clear water and dry. 


Avoid: 

Bleach products in the cistern as this may damage the internal fittings. 
Bleach on the hinges as this will cause discolouration and pitting. 
Leaving bleach in the toilet bowl with the cover closed, as this may cause discolouration of the seat and hinges. 
Aggressive or abrasive cleaners that may scratch the surface of the seat.
