Bath vs Showers? How to Have the Best of Both Worlds

We all want the best of both worlds. A gorgeous bath to soak in after a long day and a shower to quickly hop in and out of when time is of the essence. Now you really can have it all!

Say goodbye to days of the ‘shub’ (shower over tub). It’s a different ball game now! A shower over bath combo or wet room design is the ultimate gamechanger to add functionality to small bathroom spaces.

There’s two main routes to go down, either a shower over bath or a wet room.

Shower over bath combos are the easiest and more cost effective option. They involve either a tiled or moulded area with a bath which is stood in during showering. A glass screen or shower curtain is then added to ensure that the water stays where it is meant to rather than decorating the rest of the bathroom!

Note: Shower over bath components are usually bought separately so you can have the perfect fit for your bathroom.

Wet areas allow you greater flexibility as every wet area is designed specifically for that bathroom. A wet area involves sectioning off a corner or the end of your bathroom and designing it to be a totally wet space meaning that everything that goes into the space can get wet when the shower is on. It is usually a fully tiled area and the shower tapware will spray directly onto the ground usually right next to the bath. If you go for this option make sure you get an expert in, to ensure that all the drainage and waterproofing is done correctly!
